The development of the models for fracture risk assessment has been based on a programme of work undertaken at the Centre for Metabolic Bone Diseases at Sheffield University and Osteoporosis Research Ltd (UK). Details of the work are provided in the references below. These include papers on the modelling approach, meta-analyses to evaluate bone mineral density and other risk factors, FRAXplus adjustments and recent reviews.
